Shell Pipeline Company will launch a binding open season for transportation commitments on a 94-mile common carrier ethane supply pipeline, which will be constructed in Southwestern Pennsylvania and extend into West Virginia and Ohio. Construction of the pipeline is scheduled to begin in late 2018. Shell Pipeline anticipates the proposed Falcon Ethane Pipeline System will connect three major ethane source points within Pennsylvania and Ohio, in the rich gas portions of the Marcellus and Utica shale reservoirs, to a petrochemical plant in Monaca, Penssylvania.
